The galley of the Heart of Gold is the home of the Nutrimatic Drink Machine, or Nutrimat™. The Nutrimat™ has an interesting attitude to liquid refreshment, as it will normally take complex and detailed readings of your taste preferences and nutritional requirements, ignore them completely, and provide you with a revolting liquid with the nutritive value of lighter fluid.
However, it clearly doesn't have to do this -- Zaphod Beeblebrox has persuaded it to mix perfect Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters, probably by threatening it with a Reaction-Assisted Microgravity Shovel, one of the ridiculously overcomplicated tools originally part of the standard equipment of the Heart of Gold and now sadly lost during one of those drunken raids on the All-Siderial-Period Fried Root Vegetable Emporium of Hurtringfurl ("Chips and Dips straight to your Ship") which somehow always end up depriving you of things you actually need and furnishing you with a traffic polyhedron.
On no account attempt to enter the Tea Room. It is always locked. The door might as well not be there for all the good trying go through it will avail you.
