A corollary to the Shoe Event Horizon Principle exists for extremely rich, yet depressing planets (such as that housing the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation); upwardly mobile executives already have outrageously expensive shoes, but looking at their feet reminds them how much they hate walking, and so they buy a vehicle. The tendency for the overpaid to buy expensive transportation on bonus day has been noted even in wealthy areas of backward planets like Bartrax, Hurtringfurl or Earth. The Cadpontiluick Motor Transport Corporation plans to be there with vehicles that break down surprisingly often, and fleets of courtesy cars for the insurance companies when they do.
